Steuben Parade Draws Raffle Winners
Loyal supporters win trip to Germany, Carnegie Hall tickets
The German-American Committee of Greater New York has ended a 2 month long fund raiser by raffling off two prizes among all donors who had generously supported the Steuben Parade.
For the first time ever, the Steuben Parade Committee had offered raffle prizes to get the attention of the many German-Americans within and outside the Greater New York region who have loyally attended the parade and other events for years and who felt generous enough to support the Committee with a donation. When all was said and done, large and small donations have poured in for weeks at the home of Trude Klein, Director of Finance to the Steuben Parade, who diligently converted all incoming envelopes into raffle tickets for the drawing.
The drawing was held at a recent Steuben Parade meeting at the Liederkranz in Manhattan, where parade planners come together regularly to prepare for September. Under the watchful eyes of Heinz Buck, President of the German-American Committee of Greater New York, it was none other than Miss German-America Stephanie Russell-Kraft who picked the winning tickets:
The Grand Prize, a trip to Germany for two on Continental Airlines, goes to Mr. & Mrs. Richard Samide from Jamaica, NY. And Ms. Zita Kraft from Briarcliff, NY won four tickets to see the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra at Carnegie Hall. Congratulations to the winners, and again, thank you to all supporters for their donations.
