STEUBEN PARADE DRAWS RAFFLE WINNERS

One of the most important fundraisers the Steuben Parade Committee organizes every year is our raffle with valuable prizes including a roundtrip ticket for 2 people to Germany. At this year´s Oompahfest in Franklin Square - the official after-party of the Steuben Parade - Miss German-America, Stephanie Russell-Kraft and her Court picked our winners.

The winner of the Grand Prize, a flight for 2 people to Germany, is Mrs. Anneliese Andre of South Ozone Park, NY. She will be flying with long time Steuben Parade partner Air Berlin, which offers daily direct flights to Düsseldorf and Berlin and has fast and easy connections to many other cities all over Germany. For more information on Air Berlin, please click here.

The second prize, a Limited Edition Writing Instrument by Montblanc, goes to Mr. Hans Lechner of Amawalk, NY. This beautiful fountain pen from the "Carnivale" series is worth $1,980 and comes from the most famous company in elegant writing with a history dating back to 1906 when Montblanc was founded in Hamburg. The company is a new partner to the Steuben Parade, and more information can be found here.

Another great German brand is Meissen Porcelain. This year, this storied manufacturer is celebrating their 300th Anniversary. A one-night-only exhibition brought some of their most elegant pieces to the Steuben Parade Gala Banquet, much to the appreciation of several hundred guests. The beautiful set "Tea with the Dragon" is going to Mr. John Deitsch of Hillsdale, NJ. For more information on Meissen click here.

A great weekend can always be enjoyed at Riedlbauer´s Resort in in New York´s scenic Catskill Mountains. For the best German/Austrian cuisine in New York, there is only one place: The legendary Wallse run by Kurt Gutenbrunner. The Michelin-decorated chef is one of the most successful food entrepreneurs in NYC, where he also runs Blaue Gans, The Upholstery Store, Café Sabarsky at Neue Galerie, and the Biergarten at "The Standard" hotel. A coupon for a dinner for 2 goes to Mr. and Mrs. Jason Potzer of Hamburg, NJ. For more information on Kurt Gutenbrunners restaurants, click here.

With Christmas coming soon, the time is right to put up a giant "Nikolaus" nutcracker from Alpenland Catalogue. This company is the first place to find German, Austrian, and Swiss items from beer steins and T-shirts, dolls and other collectibles to CDs, Christmas ornaments and even Lebkuchen. A nutcracker will be delivered to Mr. John Wilson of The Bronx, NY. Find out more about Alpenland by clicking here.

Sports memorabilia are always great collectibles. The New Jersey Devils, one of the greatest hockey teams in the country, is proud to be led by a German-American captain who is also the current captain of the US National Team and won a silver medal at the recent Olympic Games in Vancouver: Jamie Langenbrunner. His signature is on a puck donated by the NJ Devils, which will go to Mr. Hans Lechner of Amawalk, NY. More information about the NJ Devils can be found here.

The German-American Steuben Parade Committee warmly congratulates all winners and thanks all who bought raffle tickets for their support of the Parade and our many other cultural initiatives. Our next raffle is already in the works, once again with valuable prizes. Stay tuned and check our web site regularly.
