Steuben Parade teams up with Hofbräu Bierhaus NYC

Good news for German-Americans… and anybody else who enjoys a freshly tapped German brew and tasty food: On Thursday, March 10, the brand new "Hofbräu Bierhaus NYC" will open in midtown Manhattan.

The latest addition to the New York bar scene is not a full-fledged Hofbräuhaus like the ones in Pittsburgh and Las Vegas, but rather a nice Biergarten-style restaurant/bar with a capacity for 200 people. It is a second floor walk-up and boasts a large skylight over the main dining room - this gets you as close to an outdoor Biergarten feel as it gets in the metropolis that is New York.

The crew behind the Bierhaus is excited about the upcoming opening. "We are excited to be opening a place where people can gather to have a good time and drink good beer," said Tom Ryan, who owns Hofbräu Bierhaus with Paul O'Connor and James Hendrick. "We'd like this to be a place where old friends and new can come together to share in a truly unique dining experience."
The kitchen will feature a broad sampling of great Bavarian cuisine, including giant soft pretzels as the must-have appetizer, potato pancakes, and all sorts of Wurst. There´s Goulash and cucumber salad, and the entrees include Pork Shank, different Schnitzels, Sauerbraten but also fish and vegetable dishes.
Hofbräu will be the exclusive beer available, but at least six brews will be on tap at any time, including: Original, Dunkel, Hefeweizen as well seasonal like Oktoberfest and Maibock.

While the official Opening of Bierhaus NYC is not until March 10, the German-American Committee of Greater New York is excited to be hosting a party on Monday, March 7 as a soft-opening of the new place. Kitchen and bar will be fully stocked, music by Alpine Squeeze. We will raffle of a Flight for 2 to Germany on Air Berlin, another long time Steuben Parade supporter.

Join us on Monday, March 7, between 6-9 PM to celebrate German-American friendship with good food and beer at the latest German local in New York City.
No RSVP necessary. A part of the night´s proceeds will go to the German-American Committee to support our cultural work including the Steuben Parade. There will be no cover charge, but your generous contribution in support of the Parade is welcome.

See the official Press Release for more information on the Bierhaus NYC.
