Looking for Miss German-America 2011
The search for Miss German-America 2011, Queen of the 54th German-American Steuben Parade of New York is on!
 At this time, we are accepting applications for Miss German-America, and Steuben Parade Princess, Junior Princess and Junior General and have already received several requests through the parade web site! Be sure to check the web site often for news on parade related happenings.
I'm excited to inform you that we have a fantastic Crowning event planned for Saturday May 21 2011!
Come join us in the selection and Crowning of Miss German-America and Her Court at "Maifest" at the Circle Line at Pier 81, West 41st Street, New York City! As in previous years, this is an audience participation event! We would love to have you participate in the festivities under the Maifest tent and then sail away on a cruise along the Manhattan Skyline in celebration of Miss German-America and her court.
As spokeswoman for the New York Steuben Parade, the Queen and her court will promote the New York Steuben Parade by attending many events in the greater NYC area.
Responsibilities include:
- Appearances at some events (mostly weekends) from June through September
- Miss G-A is invited to the Mayor's reception on a weeknight in early September
- Participation in Steuben Parade events on the weekend of September 16-18, 2011
Criteria:
- Miss German-America must be 18-25 years of age, single, and an American citizen with a German background
- General knowledge of the German language is desirable
- Must be able to participate in the events
- Must be able to attend the Crowning Ceremony in May
- Candidates must participate in a preliminary interview 10am-12noon on Crowning day

Mark your calendar for Maifest on May 21 and of course for the 54th Steuben Parade on September 17, 2011. The committee is encouraging all eligible candidates to apply!
