Cruise, Dine and Dance at the Steuben Parade Gala
The German-American Steuben Parade Committee is proud to announce details about the upcoming 55th Annual Steuben Parade Gala held on Friday, September 14, 2012 aboard the brand-new Hornblower Infinity, the largest and most elegant Yacht in New York harbor.
 Fresh off the shipyard in Florida, the newest yacht in Hornblower´s New York fleet, the "Infinity" had it´s naming ceremony and maiden cruise this week at Pier 40 on Manhattan´s West Side. Aboard for the Cruise were Steuben Parade General Chairman Lars Halter and Vice Chairwoman Geraldine Brand, who were both impressed with the beauty and elegance of the ship. "This is a very classy yacht," says Mr. Halter. "It is a great fit for our elegant black-tie affair. On the eve of the 2012 Steuben Parade, we will see one of the greatest Galas ever." As for long time Gala Chairwoman Geraldine Brand, she was impressed by the food and service on board. "The food is absolutely delicious," Mrs. Brand said about both, the passed hors d´oeuvres and the buffet featuring salmon, seafood salad and an impressive carving station. The food at the Steuben Parade Gala will not be buffet style, but will be served at the table as usual.
Definitely new and unusual are the views offered from aboard the Hornblower Infinity. Three enclosed decks with wall-to-ceiling panorama windows and an open sky deck with an outlook reaching 65 feet above sea level, will afford views of the gorgeous Manhattan skyline, the Statue of Liberty, and the Brooklyn Bridge, an icon of German-American ingenuity built by John August Roebling.
Most elements of the traditional Steuben Parade Gala remain intact at the new location, including the Cocktail Hour with open bar and entertainment by "Spitze". The Orlando, Florida, based band made its Steuben Parade Gala debut in 2011 performing alongside legendary songwriter Bill Danoff. In 2012, the Ehrengarde der Stadt Köln will be giving a special dance performance as one of the highlights of the evening.
Invitations to the Steuben Parade Gala are available now and will be mailed before the end of June. You can also download the pictures below for all details, including a response card. Please feel free to print the response card, fill it out and mail it with payment to the address given below. Tickets for the exclusive Gala are on sale for $200, a table for 10 can be reserved for $2,000. VIP tickets with premier seating and access to an exclusive VIP Cocktail reception are available for $500, tables for 10 for $5,000. Ticket price includes three hour cruise in New York harbor, Cocktail Hour, four-course dinner, music and entertainment. --- Reserve early for best seating arrangements.
The 2012 Steuben Parade Gala is on Friday, September 14, 2012 aboard the Hornblower Infinity. The ship will remain dockside at Pier 40 (Hudson River at West Houston Street) for the Cocktail Reception starting at 7 PM. Dinner starts at 8 PM with the yacht leaving at approximately 8.15 PM - guests are asked to be in time. No refund will be given for latecomers. The Infinity will be back at Pier 40 at approximately 11 PM for early disembarkation. Entertainment will continue until 12 Midnight.
